LINK

If you are hungry and need emergency food: Please call LINK at (703) 437-1776. A Food Coordinator will call you back.

LINK is an interdenominational coalition of 16 churches in the Sterling/Herndon area. The organization runs a food pantry and makes deliveries to clients in need in the surrounding areas. Each member church is assigned a month to be responsible for food deliveries to clients, and is also assigned a month to stock the pantry. LINK also sponsors a holiday food basket program for Thanksgiving and Christmas; the program provides food for families in need during the holiday season. For more information on LINK activities and current pantry needs, visit www.linkagainsthunger.org.

During the month of September, St. Matthew’s will be collecting supplies for the LINK food pantry. Please pick up a Trader Joe’s bag in the narthex and fill it with non-perishable food items and return it to the parish hall.

All donations are welcome, but specific needs at the pantry include: jelly, canned meat, rice, Hamburger Helper, spaghetti noodles, cereal, oatmeal, toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, diapers (any size) and cleaning supplies.
