Saint Matthew's Day with a Ground Breaking Ceremony & Ministry Fair

Sunday, September 19th , 11:30am

Invite neighbors and friends to join in the fun! Come learn about the numerous ministries here at Saint Matthew's, while meeting friends and enjoying lunch. We'll also be "digging in" to our Making Space to Share building expansion! Golden shovels will be on hand for picture taking opportunities. Don't miss your chance to be part of Saint Matthew's history.

Saint Matthew's will provide hot dogs and hamburgers. Based on the first letter of your last name, you are requested to bring the following: Side Dishes (A-H) Desserts (I-R) Drinks (S-Z)

Mission Dinner Fundraiser

Join us at Chick-Fil-A on September 20th. The restaurant donates a very generous portion of the proceeds to help fund our mission trips. Come out for great fun and fellowship.

Family Fishing Trip

We are sure you have heard the "BIG" fish stories. Now come join us for a day of bay fishing and have a story of your own. Saturday September 25th we are going fishing in the bay off Solomon's Island. We will leave St Matts at 10AM and return around 5PM. This promises to be a lot of fun no matter how big the fish are.

LOL Sunday Nights

Join the new LOL Youth Service Sunday nights - at 5:30pm. These services are open to all High Schoolers and any youth who are confirmed in the Episcopal church. We will have dinner, a worship service like the 9:15 service, with some familiar faces in the band, a talk that is relevant to the life of teens, as well as small groups with really cool leaders.

LINK Food Pantry

September is our month to deliver the food for LINK. Please join in this great ministry. If you have questions, contact Marcia Rugen at mrugen@aol.com or 703-433-9719.  LINK is a local and all volunteer organization that provides food to families in need. They are always in need of donations, especially jelly, canned chili, spaghetti and sauce, tuna, soup, baked beans, cereal, 1lb bags of rice and any size of diapers. Please pick up extra as you do your own shopping and bring your gifts to church each week.

What is this? Goodsearch is a faith based search engine that gives back to its members. Go to www.goodsearch.com and select St Matthews as your church. Each time you use the search engine or make a purchase online through this portal they will give a portion back to St Matthews.

The Vision of Saint Matthew's
To live life at its fullest in Christ.

The Mission of Saint Matthew's
To know and share God's love through the following actions:

  • do all in our power, and then some, to foster, nourish, and sustain authentic, living relationships with God in Christ
  • to build a community devoted to becoming one human family in pursuit of God's dream for us
  • to promote personal growth so that, with God's leading, help, and grace, we will more fully realize our God given potential and purpose
  • to embrace the highest standards, as individuals, families, and a church, of love, dedication, honesty, integrity, and service
